What does success look like to you?

For me, success is having that fizzy, excited feeling when I've helped a client achieve.  The achievements may be marketing or commercially led, it might be because of the training I have given, the growth they visualised, or the team I recruited and trained for them.

More importantly though, what does success look like to you? Once you recognise what makes you sing, all we have to do next is to build on that so that success comes naturally - eat, sleep, rinse, repeat.

Have browse through some of my success stories.  Then, if you like what you've read, give me a buzz and let's see how I can help you succeed.

Small business marketing

CNG Design (Laurencekirk)

CNG Design supply and install quality kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms from Stonehaven down to Dundee (and everywhere in between).  Owner and director Chris Graham wanted to come out of lockdown with a smile making order book.

As marketing consultant I approach every client exactly the same way - by taking them through an indepth discovery session.  By drilling down into CNG Design, I was able to clearly see and map out a strategy for exiting out of lockdown.  This is a pathway to small business marketing success.

Chris knows what he's doing.  His ideas are great but like most business owners, he is time short and needs to rely on someone to activate and manage his marketing campaigns.

CNG Design's social media platforms have been activated and the engagement we now receive is fantastic!

All the marketing activities which have taken place have all been strategically driven with the end result that CNG Design now has a full order book until January 2021.

We are also just about to launch an AWESOME initiative on December 18 2020 - one which we hope will go down EXTRA-ordinarily well - so eyes peeled!

So it's hats off to everyone at CNG Design - because it takes team work to make everything fall neatly into place.

Managed growth & marketing management

ecoeats (St Andrews)

ecoeats is based in St Andrews and has the ethos of 'replacing the base' which means reducing the amount of meat in our weekly diets. Their brand is all about sustainable eating, reducing waste, whilst providing its partners with an efficient, eco-driven online food ordering and delivery App.

Founded by 2 St Andrew's University students, ecoeats is going from strength to strength with its entry into the City of Glasgow in 2021.

I worked with ecoeats as a marketing consultant responsible for:

  • transitioning the delivery from bicycles to establishing a fleet of electric cars
  • worked with the CEO on fleet livery branding
  • worked with their young marketing team to fine tune their social media marketing
  • researched new merchants for new city launch

Event sponsorship & sampling

Classic Ibiza

Classic Ibiza is a summer concert series staged at some of England's finest stately homes from June to September.  The vibe is white island classics performed by the Urban Soul Orchestra and supported by DJ Goldierocks.

It is always a pleasure to be able to align the right products with the right event and Unwanted Wines was just perfect for this outdoor, high octane, family event.

Taste Angus

Organised by Sinclair's Catering, Taste Angus was an annual food and drink festival staged at Glamis Castlem nestled in the heart of Angus.

In 2017, I was asked to join the team to secure sponsorship for this event.  We subsequently welcomed:

  • John Clark (Seat & Skoda) as Title Sponsors
  • Mackays Jams
  • Strathmore Foods
  • Thornton's Law

I helped the event organiser (Lucy Mackay) with all aspects of the event from securing and managing Candice Brown (Great British Bakeoff), managing her book sales, managing and overseeing all aspects of on-site sponsorship from set up to take down to pre-event marketing and PR activities.

Held over 2 days, Taste Angus attracted an audience of over 4,000 families from across Scotland.

Business growth & development

ana recruitment (Aberdeen)

Working closely with the CEO in Aberdeen, my role was to manage the marketing and development of this £5m turnover private enterprise.

Having just re-branded, I was instrumental in developing the ana brand.  I implemented focused commercial and small business marketing arketing strategies which directly resulted in:

  • Raising shifts from 650 shifts being request per week to 800
  • Increasing candidate applications whilst implementing online screening techniques, ensuring all prospective agency workers meet ana’s stringent recruitment requirements
  • Developing marketing communication material to raise ana’s brand profile within their market sector
  • Managing ana's digital on-line marketing campaign to raise brand awareness and increase recruitment
  • Launch of ana's new care @ home service
  • Exploring the provision of services into the Dundee
  • Winning tender framework agreements
  • Managing the implementation of new brand strategy
